Brooklyn's birthday was on October 6, but we had her party on Sunday, October 3rd. She wanted a Fancy Nancy party and she wanted it at the park, so that is what we did. I had trouble going with that theme since typically Fancy Nancy is at home dressing up. While at the library, we saw the Fancy Nancy book, Explorer Extraordinaire. It is all about her outdoor adventures. Perfect!
I found a cute invitation on Etsy that personalized it with her name and the details of her party. It was in the middle of the day on a Sunday and the weather could not have been more perfect. It was a little windy, but besides making the balloons fly off the table, it was great! All the little girls dressed "fancy", yet ready for adventure. :) They played for a while and then we gathered for cake. Then we did a scavenger hunt. I found this cute Fancy Nancy scavenger hunt online (page 8) and the girls really had fun with it. We gave everyone a magnify glass as part of their party favors, so they used those to find the many things listed on their sheet. Brooklyn really wanted a pinata, so we had Fancy Nancy one. The girls did a great job hitting on it, but it wasn't until Silas hit it that everything flew out. Brooklyn opened some really great presents from her friends and we called it a day. It was a fun, easy going party with a ton of our very best friends. It was fun to celebrate Brooklyn!! The collage was the easiest way to combine all the MANY pictures.
